Poppies make me think of two things: Wizard of Oz and Veterans (you know how they hand out red poppies when you donate).
Fun after the rain - Memorial Day Weekend
It rained part of Memorial Day Sunday (aka Race Day). So I went to the park and the trees were magnificent! Bark was still dark from the rain and the leaves seemed to GLOW. Unfortunately my camera decided to die since I didn't charge it or I'd have more. Enjoy the photos below :)
Spring arrived.......finally ;)
No idea what kind of orchid this is but it's beautiful! Some sort of dried looking, possibly dead former-flower that reminds me of a mini sunflower. you know spring has arrived when magnolias are in bloom. beautiful in color and in black and white these looked like sister blooms I have no words for this, it just makes me happy to look at this one. I love how the branch blended in so it looked like the bloom was floating the sister blooms in color another trio of blooms.
Winter Fun December 2012
New Year's Eve Weekend- We had just had a huge snowstorm a few days before I took these (8-10 inches) so I walked around the park and took pictures until I was numb. Seriously, this was the best day I had had in a LONG time, just me, my camara and frozen nature :)
